Popsicle Run 2026

Popsicle Run takes place Friday July 3, 2026 and is Day 1 of the Lil Firecracker Triple. The event offers a half marathon, a full marathon and a 50K on an out and back course along the Sammamish River Trail starting at Bothell Landing Park.

The course heads south from Bothell Landing over a new bridge and follows the Sammamish River Trail for about 6.55 miles to Dr Call's Bench, the published turnaround point. About one mile into the trail there is a steep descent and a right turn to cross a small bridge. At roughly 2.5 miles the trail passes through Wilmot Gateway Park, which has a bathroom and a water filling station. The trail also passes under Highway 405 and runs beside 60 Acres Park fields near the turnaround. If the route reaches the UW Bothell campus that adds extra mileage.

Course formats:

  • Half marathon: one out and back to Dr Call's Bench
  • Marathon: two out and back laps
  • 50K: three out and back legs, third leg to the concrete bulkhead and bathroom

Water and snacks are available at the start and finish and at the marathon halfway point. The course is not closed and will be lightly marked, so participants must observe traffic signals and follow the described route. Finishers receive a wood-al medal. Registration is through Webscorer, costs $35, and closes two days before the event; day of registration is $45 cash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
