Pleasant Mountain Race
The Pleasant Mountain Race is a trail race held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Bridgton, ME at Pleasant Mountain East Lodge (305 Mountain Road). The event distance is 21k. Entry fees listed in the event information are $70 (before 5/1/2024), $75 (before 9/1/2024), and $80 (starting 9/1/2024). All participants receive a tech t-shirt (sign up by 9/1 to guarantee a shirt), a meal ticket, and a beer for those 21 and older. Finishers receive a 2025 Pleasant Mountain Race finisher medal. Registration closes on Sep 27. Proceeds benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust.
Course, aid, and gear
The course starts and finishes at the Pleasant Mountain East Lodge. Early in the race there is 1,700 feet of climbing in about 2 miles up Bald Peak, then a descent via Firewarden’s Trail. Later there is about 1,900 feet of gain in 2.5 miles on the Southwest Ridge to the summit, then a traverse of the northern ridge and a technical descent on Sue’s Way back toward Mountain Road. One aid station is located at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead and will offer snacks, water, and Tailwind. Mandatory gear listed for the race includes at least 500 mL of water, at least 400 calories, a windbreaker or rain shell, a space or emergency foil blanket, and a headlamp.
