Down for Trail Running : West Newfield, Maine

Down for Trail Running is a trail running event held at Mirror Lake in West Newfield, Maine. The course runs on forest roads and singletrack with sections of double track, rugged trail, and some climbing. Runners choose how many laps to complete; laps are about 3.6 to 3.8 miles each and the event is untimed.

The weekend includes multiple activities. Saturday features a gravel ride and trail running race; Sunday hosts a cyclocross race. The venue includes a large open field that provides space for camping and parking. Camping is available on site Friday and Saturday night to allow participants to stay on the property across the weekend.

After the Saturday trail run there is a post ride gathering with wood fired pizza, beer from a local brewery, and the opportunity for a swim in Mirror Lake. The event notes one shared 5K style loop that can be used to set up personal food or water stations.

Registration is limited by field sizes; the total event registration limit is 200. Categories include several trail distances as well as youth runs.
