The courses run on forest trails and include rough terrain such as rocks, roots, and possible mud. Participants may leave backpacks and similar gear in the lower level of the headquarters building during the race. Bug spray is recommended.

On-site registration is available for those who did not preregister. Roadside parking is available on Gravelly Brook Road about a quarter mile from the headquarters, with volunteers directing vehicles. Parking at the headquarters is reserved for vendors, race staff, and emergency vehicles; drop-off at the building is permitted before proceeding to the parking field.

After the races, the headquarters area hosts music, a beer tent, food, and games for families. All runners over 21 receive a complimentary beer from Batson River Brewery after the race. Proceeds from the trail races support the Trust in Education programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
