Pilot Mountain Salamander Scamper is a 25K trail race held near Pinnacle, North Carolina, with the start/finish at 301 Boyd Nelson Rd. Runners wind through Pilot Creek Trail to the campground, then Grindstone Trail, up Ledge Springs to the mountain summit, circling the Pinnacle counterclockwise and returning via Grindstone and Mountain trails to the start. The course features a climb to Pilot Mountain’s summit with Piedmont views and a backside exploration before finishing. Full aid stations at roughly 3, 7, and 13 miles provide water, Gatorade, Coke, gels, and fruit. A hot post-race meal awaits, with a 125-runner cap and a 2:30 pm cutoff.
