Ultimate Runner
The Ultimate Runner is an annual multisport running event held at the Bob Sosnik Track at Hanes Park in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The competition consists of five distinct races held in a single evening. Participants must complete all five stages to receive a final score, a participant t-shirt, and a car decal.
The event includes four track races and one cross country race. The track portions are organized into heats based on the mile times submitted by participants during registration. The specific events take place in the following order:
- 1 mile track race
- 400m track race
- 800m track race
- 100m track race
- 5K XC cross country race
Registration for the competitive races is limited to 114 participants. In addition to the main competition, the event includes a the Celebration Lap, a non-competitive single lap around the track open to past and present participants.
The gathering concludes with an awards ceremony and post-race social gathering held at Joymongers Barrel Hall, located across the street from the park. This social event is open to all runners and volunteers, with guests permitted for a fee. Check-in and bib pickup occur on-site prior to the start of the track heats.
