Pilgrim 6 : Pen y Fan, Brecon Beacons

Pilgrim 6 is a 32 km mountain running event with approximately 1800 m of ascent on and around Pen y Fan. The course includes three separate ascents of the peak, using six different paths so no ascent repeats the same route twice. Navigation is part of the event and the route will not be fully waymarked.

There are two entry categories: a Classic fell race (unweighted) and a Weighted category that requires a 16 kg bergen or day sack. The kit for the weighted category is weighed at registration and must include any water and food carried. Competitors must supply their own bergen or day sack.

Control points and a GPX file will be provided; participants are expected to use the GPX and to navigate between published control points. Safety marshals will be present at all control points and participants must register at each control point so organisers can confirm completion of each ascent. A water station is listed at Story Arms (CP5). GPS devices are permitted. The route description notes that the first section follows road to avoid a different start and finish location.

Minimum age for entry is 16 years. Entries open 30 January 2026 and close 25 October 2026. An entry fee of £20.00 is listed. Dogs are not permitted. A cut off time may be applied and will be confirmed nearer the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
