Pilgrim 6 Endurance Event

Pilgrim 6 is an endurance event held at Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. The course covers a distance of 32 km with a total elevation gain of 1800 m. Participants navigate six different paths to complete three separate ascents of the summit, ensuring that no route is used more than once.

The event features two distinct entry categories:

  • Classic Trail Run: A standard mountain run focused on speed and strategy.
  • Weighted Category: Participants carry a 16 kg bergan or day sack. The weight is verified at the start and includes food and water.

The route is not marked, and navigation is the responsibility of the participant. While a GPX file and map coordinates are provided, runners must plot their own course following the line of least resistance between designated checkpoints. Safety marshals are stationed at every checkpoint to record participants after each ascent.

The terrain at Pen y Fan is mountainous and requires a high level of physical fitness. Domestic animals are strictly prohibited from the event. Facilities include a water station at the Story Arms checkpoint and a base camp at the start and finish area where participants can store a change of clothes. Optional event t-shirts are available for purchase during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
