Event Information

The Piedmont 8 Hour is an 8-hour running event taking place on a 2.7-mile loop course at Powhatan State Park in Powhatan, Virginia. The trail runs through open meadows and pine forests. The course features about 60 feet of elevation change per loop and is mostly double-track trail.

Race Format

Participants can register for the 8-hour individual run, an 8-hour 4-person relay, an 8-hour hiker category, or a special Parent Loop category. The Parent Loop allows a family member to complete at least one timed lap with a registered runner.

On-Site Support

An aid station at the start/finish area provides food and drinks for runners each loop. It is a cupless event. The station offers water, Tailwind, soda, and typical ultra foods like chips and candy. A local cafe provides boxed lunches for purchase, available after 11:30 AM.

Awards and Amenities

Top three male and female finishers receive awards. All runners receive a finisher's award and a shirt. A custom hat is guaranteed for those who register by September 19. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
