Course and elevation

All courses start and finish near the Snohomish River at the south end of the park. The routes are moderately to strongly hilly by trail running standards, with a big climb out of the start and a mix of steep, moderate, and flatter sections. Surfaces include single-track, old logging road, maintained hiking path, and several bridges. The route passes through mossy forests, along ponds, creeks, and wetland preserves. Elevation gain:

  • 5k: 590 feet
  • 10k: 1,115 feet
  • Half marathon: 2,360 feet

Support, rules, and logistics

Aid stations:

  • 5k: no aid stations
  • 10k: one fully stocked aid station at 3.3 miles
  • Half marathon: fully stocked aid stations at 3.3 and 9.2 miles, plus a water station at 6.4 miles

Aid station supplies include water, electrolyte drink, and a variety of carbohydrate or salty foods. The designated south entrance provides a large gravel parking area; that entrance is usually locked and is used for the event with special permission.
