Phoenix Striders Summer Series Round 1

Phoenix Striders presents the first of a five round summer series at the Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Discovery Nature Park on 28 Apr 2026. The series comprises five Tuesday evening rounds through April to August, with subsequent dates on 19 May 2026, 16 June 2026, 21 July 2026 and 18 August 2026. The Round 1 event is a 5k trail run for participants aged 12 years and over. The 5k course is two laps of a 2.5k circuit and both start and finish are at the Discovery Centre.

Entries on the day are available and are charged at the same price as online, including fees. Entry fees for Round 1 are listed as: adults £2.50 affiliated, £4.50 unaffiliated; under 18s £1.50 affiliated, £2.50 unaffiliated. Discounted online prices apply until 27 Apr 2026 and a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) is applied to each sign-up. Confirmation of entry and details about parking and transport will be emailed if an email address is provided on the entry form. Race numbers are to be collected on the day from the Discovery Centre.

There are no changing facilities at the Centre, but toilets are available and the Centre sells refreshments and small items. The event supports Essex Wildlife Trust and Brighter Outcomes for Special People. The course is on typical trail terrain with natural hazards; marshals, a tailwalker and first aid cover will be present. The series will run under a Trail Runners Association permit and England Athletics rules. A season league trophy will be awarded for U16s, adults and the club with the largest turnout.
