Event Information

The Granny's Bay Challenge is a running event held on Sunday, 8th March 2026 in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. The course is a 5.24 mile loop on a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary. Participants can complete as many laps as they wish within a 6-hour time limit. The event includes a marathon distance, which requires 5 laps, and a half marathon, which requires 2 full laps and a shorter 2.62-mile loop. All finishers receive an official time and a medal.

The run starts at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial on the Inner Promenade. The route follows the new coast path past Fairhaven Lake, Granny's Bay, and Lytham Green, offering views of the estuary, Lytham Windmill, and distant landmarks. The turnaround point is at the end of Lytham Green before runners return to the start. The event operates under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association permit.
