The Holcombe 10 takes place on Saturday 16 May 2026 at the Hare & Hounds, 400 Bolton Rd West, Holcombe Brook, Ramsbottom, BL0 9RY. The event is organised by The Sunnywood Project in collaboration with the National Trust. Registration opened 28 January 2025 and closes 1 May 2026. The minimum age is 18. Entries recorded so far are 56 participants. Entry fees are £25.00 for the 10K and £28.00 for the 10 Mile. A finisher memento is included for participants. Proceeds support The Sunnywood Project’s youth and community programmes, including Kindling Kids, Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes and the SPACE programme for children with SEMH needs.

Both routes start at the Hare & Hounds and pass through Redisher Woods before climbing to Peel Tower. The course follows bridleways and moorland, with notable features including Beetle Hill, Pilgrims Cross and Harcles Hill on the 10K. The 10 Mile route continues via Bull Hill, the mosses, Crowthorn and Quarlton Heights, crosses Red Brook, then ascends to Pilgrims Cross to rejoin the finishing section. Water stations will be available at Peel Tower and the National Trust ranger base at Chatterton Close. Required kit may include waterproof jacket and trousers, spare warm layer, hat and gloves, ability to carry 500 ml of water, fully charged mobile with mapping app, suitable trail shoes, foil blanket, whistle and personal snacks.
