Event overview

Petzl Night Trails 10K takes place at Salcey Forest (post code NN7 2HX) on 24 March 2026. The event is a night trail race of 10k over a two-lap, fully marked route. Entrants must use a head or chest torch to run; Petzl will attend with demo head torches available on site. There is an option to fundraise or donate to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity during entry. The organiser offers a tree token alternative to a medal; each token results in a tree being planted and contains wildflower seeds.

Course, logistics and entries

The surface is mainly crushed stone with tree detritus; the route can become slippery or muddy depending on weather. Salcey Forest is described as fundamentally flat. Biodegradable cups with water or electrolyte will be available on course, and hot drinks will be offered before and after the race. Parking at the venue requires payment; the organiser has arranged an evening parking rate of £3.50 for entrants. The venue is about 18 minutes from Northampton and 9 minutes from Junction 15 of the M1; the closest train station is Northampton.

Entries use tiered pricing: £16 before 24/02/2026 and £21 after that date; unaffiliated runners pay an extra £2. The event has run previously and holds Racecheck Gold Awards with over 150 reviews averaging 4.8 out of 5.
