Race 1 of the Northants 5K Series 2026 is a multi-terrain race that takes place in Fineshade Wood, a new venue for the series this year. The woodland is located between Corby and Stamford.

Race Details

The race is a 5 km multi-terrain course. All finishers receive a bespoke medal for that specific race. The event is part of a series, with a different medal available at each race. A virtual participation option is available for those who cannot attend in person; signing up for the race is required to be eligible to receive the medal by post.

Practical Information

The minimum age for participants is 11 years. On race day, 11 and 12-year-olds must be accompanied around the course by an adult entrant. Registration and race pack collection happen on race day at the red Nsport gazebo. Route maps will be available online via the Northamptonshire Sport Event Hub before race day.

The event takes place at Fineshade Wood - Top Lodge, Fineshade, near Corby. Parking is operated via an ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) system and is cashless; payment is by card or device. Parking fees apply: up to 1 hour costs £3.80 and up to 2 hours costs £6.50. Participants are encouraged to car share. Toilet facilities are available in the historic courtyard at the venue.
