Northants 5K Series - Fineshade Wood

The Northants 5K Series features 5 km multi-terrain races held across various parks and woodlands in Northamptonshire. The first event of the 2026 series introduces a new venue for the circuit, located at Fineshade Wood between Corby and Stamford. This location provides a setting within the Top Lodge area of the forest, offering participants a route through natural woodland landscapes.

Registration takes place at the event site, where participants collect race numbers and series packs. Because this is the opening race of the series, registration areas may experience high volumes of traffic. The venue features an historic courtyard where toilet facilities are available. While participants are expected to bring their own refreshments for the race itself, an on-site coffee shop provides options for runners and spectators before and after the event.

The event is open to individuals aged 11 and over. Participants aged 11 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult entrant during the race. All finishers receive a bespoke medal specific to the venue. In the event of an absence, runners who are signed up for the race can complete the distance virtually to receive their medal by post.

The venue uses an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system for parking and is a cashless site. A mobile medical crew remains on standby for the duration of the event to provide first aid if required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
