Race 1 of the Northants 5K Series takes place at Fineshade Wood, a new venue for 2026 located between Corby and Stamford in Northamptonshire. The event is a multi-terrain 5 km race that runs through parks and woodlands and uses the facilities at Top Lodge, Fineshade.

Entry fees are listed at £15.00 or £17.00 with a non-refundable booking fee of £1.50; the lower fee applies to runners affiliated to UKA. Entries close at 23:59 on Thursday 23 April. Full race day details are emailed seven days before the event; entrants should check their junk mail if they do not receive them.

The venue operates ANPR parking and is a cashless site with card or device payments. Parking fees are published for up to 1 hour and up to 2 hours. Route maps will be uploaded to the Northamptonshire Sport event hub before race day. Race packs and race numbers are collected on race day from the red Nsport gazebo. A mobile medical crew will be on standby and toilet facilities are available in the historic courtyard. Grounds Coffee Shop will be open for refreshments.
