Peak Raid Race 2 Edale

The Peak Raid Race 2 in Edale is a fell running event that emphasizes navigation and route choice. Participants navigate through the hills, moors, and dales of the Peak District. The competition follows a score event format, where the objective is to collect as many points as possible by visiting various control points within a strictly enforced 3-hour time limit.

Participants have the flexibility to select their own routes based on their personal ability, the terrain, and current weather conditions. A waterproof map including control descriptions and point values is provided to everyone at the start. The event uses SiTiming for tracking results.

Runners can compete individually or in pairs. The event is open to participants aged 14 or older, with specific categories for juniors running with a parent or guardian. There are 15 competition categories available, including senior, various veteran classes (Vet 40 to Vet 70), and mixed pairs.

Due to the nature of the terrain, specific safety equipment is mandatory. All competitors must carry waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and an integrated hood, a hat, gloves, a compass, a whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag. Kit checks are conducted for all participants. Please note that no dogs are permitted at the event due to landowner requirements and the protection of local livestock.
