The Paseo de Mariposa Trail Race is scheduled for April 19, 2026, in Mariposa, California (5088 Bullion St). It is the seventh annual running and uses the area around the historic Mariposa Courthouse, built in 1851. The event includes multiple distances and a separate children’s race; all children under 18 may enter any race for free.
Courses, rules and support
The event features a 5K course that starts at the courthouse and follows paved roads, a short climb past the high school, and a dirt fire road turnaround. The 12K course includes steep descents, a creek crossing, and a single-track climb to Slaughterhouse Road and the Flume Trail, with significant elevation gain. No strollers are permitted on the 12K; participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Aid stations are placed across all distances and Mariposa County Search and Rescue will be on site. Trails include technical terrain such as rocks, roots, and climbs. Dogs are not permitted on any route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
