Parallel of Latitude Endurance Race - Dryden Lake Park
The Parallel of Latitude is an eight hour fixed time race and relay held on the Jim Schug Trail beside Dryden Lake in Dryden, New York. The course is a 3.45 mile out and back on a flat, scenic rail trail with little to no elevation gain. The trail is marked with surveyor flags and signage.
Participants may enter as solo runners or in relay teams; relay teams may include two to six members. One large aid station is located at the start and finish area and supplies food and drinks. Two park pavilions are available on a first come, first served basis and participants may set up pop up tents near the big pavilion for personal crew or rest space. Park bathrooms are available.
During the final hour of the event optional mini parallel loops of 0.4 miles each are offered; only whole mini loops count toward a participant or team total and participants are responsible for reporting completed mini loops to the timing team. Results and day awards include custom concrete finisher stones for all finishers; lifetime mileage awards accrue for solo participants at set intervals and a special award is given at 1,000 lifetime miles. Race policies include no pacers, no dogs, and a carry in carry out trash rule; entries must be completed online as same day registration is not available.
