Virgil Crest Ultras

Cortland, United States • 13 Sep 2025

Virgil Crest Ultras is a multi-distance ultramarathon in Cortland, New York, offering a 100-mile, 50-mile, and 50K. Known for its tough terrain—Aint Easy—with steep ascents and descents, large cumulative gain and loss, and variable weather. The course opens with a sunrise climb through forest singletrack and uses less technical footing to allow flowing running.

The route may vary year to year, but always emphasizes climbing and crew access. The start/finish is guaranteed, with at least one aid station along the course to support competitors. Pacers are allowed after 50 miles or at nightfall; poles are permitted with a drop-bag policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
