Paper Chase 5K

The Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section hosts the 11th annual edition of this running and walking event in Lansing, Michigan. The course begins at Lansing Shuffle and follows a route heading south along the Lansing River Trail. Participants reach a halfway point before turning around to return to the starting location.

The event features a timed competition with the following distance:

  • 5 km run/walk

Registration includes a $10 gift card to be used for food or beverages at Lansing Shuffle. Participants who register by May 13th, 2026, are guaranteed a race t-shirt, while those registering after this date receive shirts based on remaining availability. The event utilizes chip timing provided by the Michigan Running Foundation, with live results available during the race.

Law firms and legal organizations are encouraged to form teams of at least two people, provided one member is an employee or owner. Awards are given to the three fastest overall male and female finishers. Specialized team awards are also presented to the firm with the lowest average time from its two fastest members and to the organization with the highest number of participants. A portion of the proceeds supports Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region and the Young Lawyers Section of the Ingham County Bar Association.
