Paper Chase 5K

Event overview

The Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section presents the 11th Annual Paper Chase, a 5K run/walk held on May 31, 2026 in Lansing, MI. The course starts at Lansing Shuffle (325 Riverfront Drive) and proceeds south along the Lansing River Trail to a halfway turnaround, then returns to the start area. The race will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be available live during the event and on the event website.

Registration, fees and extras

Entry fee levels are tiered: $40 through April 30, $45 from May 1 to May 30, and $50 on race day. A race t-shirt is included for participants who register on or before May 13, 2026; later registrants receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis. Every registered participant receives a $10 gift card to Lansing Shuffle. Donation options offer entry discounts, including a $100 donation that provides half off the entry fee (details vary by date).

Teams, awards and proceeds

Teams must include at least two people and one team member must be an employee or owner of the sponsoring firm or organization; teams of four or more receive a $5 discount per participant. Awards will be given to the fastest three overall male and female finishers. Team awards will go to the firm/organization with the lowest average time from its two fastest members and to the firm/organization with the greatest number of participants. A portion of proceeds will benefit Michigan Capital Region Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Young Lawyers Section of the Ingham County Bar Association.

Other notes

Packet pickup is available on race morning starting at 9:00 am. A raffle will be held with tickets available for purchase. The event aims for 150 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
