Paper Chase 5K

Event overview

The 11th Annual Paper Chase is a 5K run/walk held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. The event is organized by the Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Michigan Capital Region Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Young Lawyers Section of the Ingham County Bar Association. The race will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and race results will be available live and on the event website.

Course, registration and awards

The course starts at Lansing Shuffle, goes south along the Lansing River Trail to a turnaround at the halfway point, and returns to the start. Registration opens March 1, 2026. Entry pricing is tiered: $40 through April 30, $45 from May 1 to May 30, and $50 on race day. A race t-shirt is included for participants who register on or before May 13, 2026; later registrations receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis. Each registrant receives a $10 gift card to Lansing Shuffle. Team pricing includes a $5 discount per participant for teams of four or more; teams must have at least two people and include at least one employee or owner of the firm or organization. The organizers have a participation goal of 150. Awards will be given to the fastest three overall male and female finishers and to firm/organization teams with the lowest average time (average of two fastest members) and the largest team by participation.
