Pagan Trails : event overview

PAGAN TRAILS takes place on Saturday 24 January 2026 and is based in Chagford in north-eastern Dartmoor. The event includes two routes that pass stone circles and other pagan sites in the area. The terrain is wintry moorland and valley running in midwinter. The Marathon covers over 28 miles with about 1500 m of ascent; the Half Marathon is well over 14 miles with almost 700 m of ascent. Start and finish for both races are at Chagford Cricket and Football Club - Event HQ. Time limits are 8 hours for the Marathon and 4 hours for the Half Marathon; cut-offs will be strictly enforced. The Marathon uses GPS trackers so organisers can monitor competitors. The event is held under England Athletics rules with a permit from the Trail Running Association.
