The PCT 50 is a 50-mile trail run on June 6, 2026, in Cleveland National Forest, California. This is the 44th running of the race. The out-and-back course follows the Pacific Crest Trail in east San Diego County and ranges in elevation from about 3,000 to 6,000 feet. Total elevation gain on the course is approximately 7,500 feet. An early-start option is offered; runners starting early must carry a flashlight or headlamp.
Course and logistics
The route is mostly single-track trail with numerous climbs on the outward leg and some rocky sections. Fully stocked aid stations are located at approximately miles 6.4, 13.7, 17.5, 22.7, 27.3, 32.5, 36.3, and 43.6; Tailwind will be available at every aid station. Named aid locations include Fred Canyon, Dale’s Kitchen, Per’s Cabin, and Penny Pines. Crews are permitted access only to Penny Pines; drop bags are available there and must be labeled with the runner’s name. Per’s Cabin is not accessible by vehicle; crews must park on Monument Peak Road and hike in or meet runners where the PCT crosses Monument Peak Road. Pacers are allowed from the second pass through Penny Pines or from Per’s Cabin on the return. The event enforces cut-off times, including a 13.5-hour overall cut-off and intermediate cut-offs at specified aid stations. Littering and unsafe behavior can result in disqualification.
