The course uses a network of singletrack trails. The route features scenic overlooks, wildflowers, cacti, rolling climbs, and flowing switchbacks. The trail system is noted for its proximity to town. For the 2026 event, distances and routes have been adjusted. The longest race, now a 30K, is described as deceivingly difficult with late-race hill climbs. The half marathon route is noted as very challenging.
Distances
Participants can choose from four distances:

- 30K
The 5K and 10K are new distances for 2026, replacing previous 3-mile and 5-mile loops. The two longer races now follow a specific route order, going up "Under the Top" counterclockwise first, then "Over the Top" clockwise.
