Outpost 8k

Flatrock, Canada • 4 Jul 2026

Event Overview

The Outpost 8k Trail Race will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026. It is the third edition of the event.

Course Details

The race starts at the Father Troy's Trail trailhead on Windgap Road in Flatrock, Newfoundland and Labrador. The 8(ish) kilometer route winds its way to a giant boulder called "The Outpost," turns around there, and follows a coastal trail to Torbay Beach. The terrain features single track and wide open paths.

NOTE: Construction on the Tapper's Cove Wharf may affect the route. If not completed by race day, the course will follow a detour used in a previous year, making the total distance closer to 8.8 kilometers.

  • Entry Cost: $33 + processing fees.
  • Capacity: The race is limited to 150 entrants.
  • Registration: Opens on Sunday, March 1, 2026. There will be no waitlist, but registration may reopen on June 20th if spots become available due to cancellations.
  • Policies: All sales are final. No refunds, cancellations, bib transfers, or deferrals are allowed.
  • Time Limit: The cut-off time is 1 hour and 45 minutes if the Tapper's Cove detour is not needed, or 2 hours if it is required.
