OUTLAST Salt Lake City

OUTLAST is a timed trail endurance challenge held in Herriman, Utah at 5392 W Aurora Vista Dr. The format requires participants to run a 5K lap every hour on the hour; each lap must be completed within the hour to remain in the event. Runners who complete all six laps receive a premium OUTLAST medal and are ranked on the national leaderboard.

Course terrain is trail based and may include dirt, rocks, roots, elevation changes, occasional pavement, and gravel. Each 5K lap is timed individually; a runner's combined time for all six laps determines local winners and national leaderboard placement. Top male and female finishers at each event are recognized with a 1st Place OUTLAST award.

Finishers who complete four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch and those who complete five laps earn a “Survivor” patch. All participants receive an OUTLAST tee. Aid at the basecamp or loop start will include water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event so participants should bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a personal tent or aid station.

The event awards and leaderboard feed into national prizes. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6 hour events earns the National Champion title and a $1,000 prize. Top city champions may qualify for the Outlast Championship in DFW where additional prize money is awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
