OUTLAST Nashville
OUTLAST Nashville is a six hour trail endurance challenge held at Long Hunter State Park, 2910 Hobson Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076. The format requires runners to complete a 5K loop every hour on the hour; each lap must be finished within that hour to remain in the event. Runners who finish a lap early rest until the next round. Missing a lap ends a participant’s event.
Courses are trail based and include natural terrain, elevation changes, and variable surface conditions such as dirt, rocks, roots, occasional pavement, and gravel. Each 5K is timed individually; if a runner completes all six laps, the combined time is used for local awards and national leaderboard ranking.
Awards and recognition are tiered by laps completed: four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earn a “Survivor” patch, and six laps earn a premium OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. The top male and female at each event are recognized by fastest combined 5K time. Finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard, with a national prize available for the fastest overall time across all OUTLAST events. City champions can advance to an Outlast Championship event; additional championship prize money is awarded there.
Support at basecamp includes water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event so participants are expected to use their own bottle or hydration system. Walking is permitted as long as each 5K is completed within the hour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
