ORRRC Winter Solstice Trail Run

The ORRRC Winter Solstice Trail Run is a community-focused trail event held in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, this race is part of the club's series of smaller events designed to support the local running community in and around Dayton. The event takes place at John Bryan State Park, with parking available specifically at 3790 State Route 370.

The race features a specific distance option:

  • Half Marathon

Participants have a total of 4.5 hours to complete the course. A specific timing cutoff is enforced at the final aid station, which runners must reach within 3.5 hours of the start. The event utilizes chip timing provided by club volunteers.

Registration is open to both members and non-members, with the fee waived for all current ORRRC members. Participants aged 14 and under may also participate for free. Registration can be completed online through RunSignup or via hard copy sheets on the day of the event. Minors require a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

While the event does not provide shirts or finisher medals, all runners who complete the course within the designated 4.5-hour time limit receive a commemorative finisher award. Refreshments are available for participants, and small age group awards may be presented based on finishing results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
