Event
Old Pueblo Endurance Runs is a trail ultramarathon held in Sonoita, Arizona on March 7, 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 50 Miler
- 25 Miler
Registration closes on February 21. Entrants must be at least 18 years old.
Course
Both events use a revised route on the flanks of the Santa Rita Mountains and part of the Arizona Trail. The start is at the historic mining site of Kentucky Camp. The course includes a 25-mile loop on forest service roads and trails through the southeastern Santa Ritas. Recommended features and limits: start/finish elevation is 5142 ft, course elevation ranges from 4031 ft to 6232 ft, and average grade is 6%. The route passes near Mt. Wrightson, which has an elevation of 9452 ft. For 2026 the course follows Fish Canyon from Melendrez Pass through to the Cave Creek aid station and does not include the Greaterville trail or the off-trail wilderness bypass.
Logistics, awards and policies
Time limits are 7 hours for the 25-mile race and 15 hours for the 50-mile race. Top three male and female finishers in each event receive awards; all finishers receive awards and sponsor items. A post-race cookout is provided. The race is cupless; each runner receives a reusable collapsible cup at packet pickup. No refunds are offered; up to five entries may be deferred to the following year on a first-come basis. A 10% discount is available for Native Americans, active duty military, law enforcement, fire fighters and first responders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
