The race is run on trails and forest service roads in the southeastern Santa Rita Mountains. The course starts at the historic Kentucky Camp mining site and follows part of the Arizona Trail. A post-race cookout is provided.

Entry, awards and policies

Special awards go to the top three male and female finishers in each event. All finishers receive awards. The race offers a 10% discount to Native Americans, active duty military, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders. There are no refunds; up to five entries may be deferred to the following year on a first-come basis. Entrants must be at least 18 years old.
