Obstacle Wonderland's Rise of the Obstacles 5K

Rise of the Obstacles : Obstacle Wonderland (May 30–31, 2026), Wallkill NY

Rise of the Obstacles is a two-day outdoor obstacle course event at Obstacle Wonderland in Wallkill, New York. The event offers separate adults and kids heats that use the park’s permanent outdoor obstacle builds, rigs, walls, crawls, carries, and balance features. The course is fully outdoors and organizers note they will modify plans if weather creates unsafe conditions.

Adult offerings include a short, explosive 100 meter sprint OCR with dense obstacle placement, two attempts per racer, and fastest time counting. Podium awards will be given to top overall male and female and first in each adult age group: 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. An endurance OCR for adults runs over two laps of a curated course with trail sections and multiple passes through rigs; finishers receive a medal after completing the second lap and additional event swag is provided.

Kids heats include a 50 meter sprint OCR with two attempts and fastest time counting, plus a 1 km kid-friendly OCR focused on encouragement and effort rather than competition. Kids age groups for sprint awards are 6-9 and 10-13; children under 6 may run with parent assistance and will not be timed. All races award finisher medals. Event parking follows posted event parking signs and attendants will direct vehicles. Portable restrooms are available at the back of the field near tier-one parking.
