Red Wing Trail Challenge

The Red Wing Trail Challenge is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Red Wing Recreation Area in Lagrangeville, NY. The event is organized by CTW Endurance and is presented as the ninth annual running of the race.

Distances offered

  • 60K: four laps of the 15k loop, about 6500 ft of gain
  • 30K: roughly 3300 ft of gain
  • 15K: approximately 1625 ft of gain

The course is built from a 15k trail loop. Surfaces include grass, gravel, single track, double track, dirt, and rocks. The course is described as generally runnable. An interactive course map indicates parking, aid stations, athlete and crew setup areas, and porta potty locations. A downloadable GPX route is available for the course.

Aid stations and refueling There will be at least one aid station on course and one near the start/finish area. The start/finish area also includes a section where 60K runners may set up a base with fuel and hydration for each lap. Typical aid station supplies include water, Skratch, UCAN, and basic snacks such as pretzels, bagels, and bananas.

Awards and finishers Prizes are listed for the top three male and female finishers in each race. Unique finisher awards are planned for the 60K and 15K events.

Trail runs nearby

A series of short trail races at West Trapps Trailhead in Gardiner as part of the Shawangunk Runners summer series, with start and finish at Trapps Bridge and parking at the Mohonk Preserve West Trapps entry; registration is closed.

Experience a midweek evening trail run through the diverse terrain of Bowdoin Park. This 5 mile race features a mix of grass and rocky trails with awards for top finishers and a food drive for the local pantry.

Part of the Shawangunk Runners summer series since 1974, the Blueberry Run in Kerhonkson features a 4.1 mile loop around Lake Minnewaska plus shorter kids races, with parking at Minnewaska State Park and no registration fee.

A trail running event at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation offering 25K, 50K and 50M courses across wooded singletrack and carriage roads with runnable sections, ridge views, aid stations, and GPX course files.
