Nuclear Rush

Nuclear Rush is a muddy obstacle course race held on the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate in Brentwood, Essex. The permanent course runs through farmland, woods, rivers and lakes and features a range of natural and man-made obstacles.

Participants can choose between two distances:

  • 6 km - about 40+ obstacles
  • 12 km - about 70+ obstacles

Signature obstacles include the 20 foot Deathslide, the Travelator and a multi‑lane zip‑wire into water. The course includes water sections where buoyancy aids are available. Obstacles are award winning and designed to be achievable with no penalty for skipping an obstacle.

The event is open to participants aged 13 and over; 13 to 15 year olds require adult accompaniment on the 6 km race and under 16s must be accompanied by a paying participating adult. Timing uses chip timing and finishers receive a medal and a free finishers photo. Other on-site facilities include hot washdowns, changing facilities, free bag drop and a free car park.

The event village provides spectator space with music, food, drinks and merchandise for observers while races take place nearby. The format includes options aimed at families and children as well as adult race formats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
