NWR Cougar Chase 5K and Fun Run 2026

The 5th annual NWR Cougar Chase is a community fundraiser for the Northwest Rankin High School cross country team held on July 25, 2026 in Flowood, Mississippi. The event uses the NWR cross country course and includes multiple event options for participants.

Distances offered:

• 5K Trail Run
• 5K Trail Walk
• 1 Mile Fun Run

The 5K Trail Run is a timed race over the cross country course. The 5K Trail Walk follows the same course at a walking pace. The 1 Mile Fun Run is untimed and noted as suitable for families and children; children under 10 may run for free. All participants receive a t-shirt.

Awards are given for overall male and female finishers in the 5K run and 5K walk, plus top male and top female in the following age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Proceeds from the event go directly to the Northwest Rankin Cross Country team to support uniforms, travel expenses, and equipment.
