The Nuts Christmas Trail Race takes place on 7 December 2025 at Balbirnie Park, Markinch, Fife. The course is on paths and trails through the park woodlands and is approximately 4-5 miles long. The route includes mud, water crossings and some small undulations. All finishers receive a bespoke race memento. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers, and to first male and female in the age categories Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. The event is sponsored by Badass Brewing Co. and spot prizes of Badass craft beer are available.

Logistics and entry

Race headquarters is at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch, KY7 6AA, where number pick-up, toilets, bag storage and limited changing facilities are provided. There is strictly no parking inside Balbirnie Park; parking is available in the primary school car park just south of the hall and in surrounding streets. Entry is pre-entry only, the fee is £11.00 and the event is limited to 70 places. No refunds or deferrals are offered; free entry transfers are allowed up to seven days before the race and must be arranged between entrants before notifying the organiser. The organiser may alter route or distance because of weather or forestry work and may reschedule cancelled races. Events are insured and permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules. Updates, results and photos will be posted on the Facebook event page.
