2026 Northumberland Turkey Trot

The Northumberland Turkey Trot is scheduled for October 12, 2026, at the Cobourg YMCA, 339 Elgin St W, Cobourg, Ontario. The event supports the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign, which aims to remove financial barriers for children, teens, adults and seniors in the local area.

Course and awards Racing starts at the YMCA and proceeds through the Cobourg Conservation Area, an urban green space. The majority of the course is grass with uneven ground and small rolling hills. The 2.5K and 5K are timed; the kids 1K is untimed. Finisher medals are reserved for the first 400 registrants in the 2.5K and 5K; kids medals are available for the 1K (limit of 150). The Golden Drumstick Award recognizes best costume or turkey spirit.

Practical notes A family discount code, FAMILY25, provides 25% off for registrations that include two adults and up to four children (18 and under) in the same transaction. Dogs on leash are welcome in the start/finish area but are not permitted on the course during running events. Strollers should remain off the course during timed events; the 2.5K is suitable for backpack or sling carriers. Trail running event in Roseneath on June 14 2026 offering four route choices from a timed 3 km loop to a 24.6 km combined route. The event is self supported with aid available at the start area.

Trail and ultra races at Warsaw Caves combine single-track forest trails, limestone lookouts and 20+ km of paths. Organized by Body and Mind Adventures, a portion of fees supports CMHA and the event is cup free.

Trail race at Long Sault Conservation Area offering 2 km, 7 km, 14 km, 21 km and a timed six hour event. The course uses two 7 km loops with a single aid station and limited on site parking.

Snowy Soles is a single loop snowshoe race at Goodrich Loomis Conservation Area near Brighton Ontario, running through pine groves. The event includes a post race chili lunch, a Snowy Soles touque and entry to prize draws.
