Northumberland Turkey Trot : Cobourg, ON

The Northumberland Turkey Trot takes place on October 12, 2026 at the Cobourg YMCA, 339 Elgin St W, Cobourg, ON. The event supports the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign to reduce financial barriers for people in the community.

Runners start at the YMCA and follow a course through the Cobourg Conservation Area. The majority of the route is on grass with uneven ground and small rolling hills; the 5K is two loops of the 2.5K course. The 5K and 2.5K are timed events; the kids 1K is untimed. Finisher medals are reserved for the first 400 registrants who participate in the 2.5K and 5K; kids medals for the 1K are limited to 150.

Awards include top finishers by sex and age category (18 and under, 19 plus), draw prizes, and the Golden Drumstick Award for best turkey spirit. Dogs on leash are welcome in the start/finish area only. Strollers should remain off the running courses; the 2.5K may suit those using backpack carriers. Bibs are assigned on site at check in. Trail and ultra races at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area offering individual, team and virtual formats with chip timing. A portion of fees supports CMHA and the event operates as a cup free, environmentally focused race.

A 6.5K snowshoe race on January 23, 2027 at Goodrich Loomis Conservation Area near Brighton ON. The single loop route goes through pine groves and includes a post race chili lunch, a touque and prize draws.

Trail race at Goodrich Loomis Conservation Area in Brighton, ON, opening the Happy Hour series. The course is about 6 to 8 km on trails with hills, rocks and mossy log bridges. No aid stations and the event is cupless.
