Event overview

Long Sault Trail Race & Ultra takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Long Sault Conservation Area in Bowmanville, Ontario. The event offers multiple distance options, including a kids fun run, a timed ultrarun, and looped trail distances. Event distances are capped this year due to limited parking, and starts are staggered.

Course and format

The course uses two all-trail loops, each about 7K. Distances offered:

  • 2K Kids Fun Run
  • 7K single loop
  • 14K two different 7K loops
  • 21K three loops (two different 7K loops plus an extra loop)
  • 6-hour event: complete as many 7K loops as possible within six hours

There is one Aid Station at the Start/Finish with lemon/lime Skratch, water, and common snacks for longer-distance participants. Runners should be able to carry what they need to complete a 7K loop before returning to the Aid Station. 6-hour participants must complete loops within the six-hour limit; they may not begin a final loop they cannot finish in time.

Parking is limited and incurs a $7 per vehicle fee; a paid parking receipt must be shown at registration. Cotton hoodies will be sold with proceeds donated to CLOCA. The Kids Fun Run is sponsored by North Oshawa Dairy Queen, which provides an ice cream voucher to each child. No dogs are permitted at the event. Registration fees are final; no refunds or deferrals are issued, though bib transfers and distance changes are allowed under the event's stated conditions. Sponsors include Running Room and MEC.
