About the race
Long Sault Trail Race & Ultra takes place at Long Sault Conservation Area in Bowmanville, Ontario. The event is a looped trail race with multiple distance options and a 6 hour timed format.
Distances include:
- 2K Kids Fun Run
- 7K single trail loop
- 14K two different 7K loops
- 21K three loops based on the two 7K trails
- 6 hour event, complete as many 7K loops as possible
The course uses two 7K all-trail loops. There is a single aid station at the start/finish offering water, lemon/lime Skratch and typical trail snacks; participants should be able to carry what they need between the aid station and the loop turnaround. Runners in the 6 hour event must complete their distance within the six hour limit and may not start a final loop they cannot finish.
Logistics note that entries are capped this year and start times are staggered to accommodate limited on-site parking. Parking is charged at CA$7 per vehicle and a paid receipt must be shown at registration; parking can be paid online in advance. Every participant will receive event swag (details TBD). A cotton hoodie is available for purchase with proceeds donated to CLOCA. The Kids 2K Fun Run is sponsored by North Oshawa Dairy Queen, which provides an ice cream voucher to each child; a parent or guardian must run with their child.
No refunds or deferrals are issued; bib transfers or distance changes are permitted up to three days before the event, with further distance changes handled on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
