Northumberland Run Forest Run

The event takes place on June 14, 2026 in Northumberland Forest near Roseneath, Ontario. It offers several loop formats on marked forest trails.

  • The Jenny: 4 hour event on a 3 km loop.
  • The Lieutenant Dan: one loop of 7.5 km.
  • The Bubba: one loop of 9 km.
  • The Full Gump: combined loops plus an out-and-back to Lookout Mtn for 24.6 km total.

The event is self supported. Participants must provide their own nutrition and water; there are no marshals on course. Aid and a water refill station are available at the start area (Location 50 on the course map). Participants may wish to carry a cell phone or a sounding device such as a whistle to access help if needed.

Most trails (Purple Finch, Black Oak, and Sweet Fern) are free from motorized vehicles, but some access routes to the Lookout are used by vehicles. Trails are narrow in places; for safety, dogs are not allowed in the race.

Registration is limited to 100 people. T-shirts may be purchased during registration for $30 and should be ordered by April to guarantee sizing. Organizers are unable to offer refunds; an entry transfer may be possible if arranged within a reasonable time.

The event supports St. John Ambulance. A trophy is planned for the best Forrest Gump inspired outfit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
