Fat Ass Trail Run

Fat Ass Trail Run takes place at Batawa Ski Hill in Quinte West, Ontario. The event offers multiple distances on natural trails around the ski hill.

Available distances include:

  • 50 km
  • Bad Ass 6 Hour
  • 24.5 km
  • 16.5 km
  • 10 km
  • 7.5 km
  • 5 km
  • Big Bum Kids 1 km

The course features rocks, roots, wide trails, single track, wooden bridges, creek crossings, hills and meadows. Conditions may include snow, mud or sun. Participants are asked not to use headphones or to keep volume low so they can hear others who need to pass.

The 50 km race enforces a hard cutoff and requires lighting for after-dark sections. Runners must be on their final loop before the late cutoff; pacers and poles are allowed on the last loop.

There are three aid stations located on the course stocked with water, Tailwind and a variety of snacks. This is a cupless event; participants should bring their own flasks, speed cups or hydration bladders. First aid is provided by Stat Med Canada. Porta potties are available at the start/finish area.

Parking is ample at Batawa Ski Hill with overflow at the Batawa Community Centre; street parking that blocks driveways should be avoided. There are no participant medals for all finishers; medals are awarded only to first, second and third place male and female per distance. Big Bum kids receive participation ribbons.

The event policy states there are no refunds. Transfers between individuals are allowed until October 31 at the registrants' expense. Fat Ass shirt pre-orders and Bad Ass swag must be placed by October 25 to be guaranteed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
