About the race
The First Hour is a trail race held on June 18, 2027, at Goodrich Loomis Conservation Area in Brighton, ON. It is organized by Dirty Soles and is the first event in a Friday Night Happy Hour series.
The course distance is approximately 6-8 km, varying with trail conditions. The route includes hills, rocks, roots, and mossy log bridges; some sections can be slippery. There are no aid stations on course. Water is available at the start/finish area and the event is cupless, so participants must provide their own water bottles. Goodrich Loomis has a porta-potty near the parking lot and no other on-course facilities.
Timing will be done manually and there are no placement awards. Standard registration is listed at US$35.07 and day-of registration is available one hour before the race for US$40. Registration closes on June 11, 2027. There are no refunds; entrants may defer to another Happy Hour event if unable to attend.
Dirty Soles will offer swag for sale. Participants who complete all four Happy Hour races will receive a custom Dirty Soles medal and prize at The Last Hour. Additional series-based recognitions include awards for top cumulative time and for least cumulative time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
