Norfolk Festival of Running at Bawsey Country Park

The Norfolk Festival of Running returns for a second year at Bawsey Country Park, located on the B1145 between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Gayton. The event offers multiple fixed-distance options and a contained lap format around a clearly marked start and lap point.

Distances offered include:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 15k
  • Half Marathon
  • Heavy Half Marathon (standard 5 laps, option to change on the day)
  • Full Marathon
  • Ultra Marathon (standard 9 laps, option to extend up to 12 laps)

The event is a timed festival with a six hour overall cut off and a four hour cut off for later starters. There is an aid station at the Race HQ/Base Camp on each lap. The course terrain includes sand, gravel and grass; it is described as a trail event, with organisers suggesting road trainers while noting trail shoes may be useful depending on recent weather.

On event day participants register at the start area visible from the car park. There is no baggage facility so personal items should be left in vehicles as the route passes the car park each lap. The event has gone cupless so attendees must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Parking is included in the entry price and a parking code should be collected before departure. Virtual entries are available through the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
