Routes follow the historic Western States trail to No Hands Bridge, include the K2 training hill and the Overlook Hill, and the 50K crosses Highway 49 to use the Wendell T. Robie trail in the Auburn State Recreation Area. Hiking or trekking poles are permitted.
Aid stations offer a variety of food and drinks such as energy gels, stroopwafels, trail mix, salty snacks, soda, water, and Skratch Labs hydration mix. This is a cupless event; runners must carry their own bottle or reusable cup. Race shirts are District Perfect-Tri tri-blend fabric. Overall awards use gun time; age-group awards use chip time.
