SOMO Winter Trail Series

The SOMO Winter Trail Series takes place at South Mountain Reservation in South Orange, New Jersey. This event utilizes a varied terrain that includes existing fire roads, single-track trails, hills, and sections of pavement. The course is designed as a loop, and runners navigate the circuit a different number of times depending on their chosen distance.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • 5K: This distance consists of one full loop of the course.
  • 10K: Runners completing this distance navigate the course loop twice.
  • 13.1 Miles: The longest distance requires participants to complete four loops.

Aid stations are positioned along the route to provide support to runners approximately every three miles. While the event does not offer finishing medals, all participants receive a giveaway item.

Registration is available both in advance and on the day of the race at the event location. Race day registration and check-in take place at 12 Bear Lane. For those registering on the day of the event, payment can be made using cash, check, or digital payment platforms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
