Night Train 50K and Half Marathon : Farmville, VA
Night Train is a night-time trail event on the High Bridge Trail State Park that follows an old rail trail through countryside and historic sites near Farmville. The course begins and ends at Camp Paradise; all finishers cross the bridge at the finish. Nighttime conditions and fireflies are noted features along the route.

The course is relatively flat but can be slightly long; the 50K is described as closer to 32 miles. There are extended distances between aid stations. 50K runners reach the first aid station in downtown Farmville after about 5.3 miles, then continue to Tuggle and Prospect aid stations; half marathon runners use a turnaround after the downtown aid station. Crew access is available at downtown Farmville, Tuggle, and Prospect.
Safety and logistics: the race is cupless and all runners must carry water (a minimum of about 20 ounces is recommended); failure to carry water can lead to disqualification. Time limits apply for distance races. The event is chip timed. Runners may change distance during the race. Awards and apparel: finishers receive awards; women receive tank tops and men receive t-shirts; top three in each gender receive prizes. A most Patriotic runner award is also planned.
