Night Train returns for its 9th year on the High Bridge Trail State Park rail trail in Farmville, VA. The course follows an old rail corridor through fields, small towns and historic sites from the Civil War era. The event begins and ends at Camp Paradise, and every finisher crosses the bridge at the finish; fireflies and moonlight are noted features of the finish experience.

- Family 5K with registration for up to four additional runners
The course is relatively flat but includes extended gaps between aid stations. The 50K is slightly long, closer to 32 miles. There are time limits for the main events: a 9.5 hour limit for the 50K and a 5 hour limit for the half marathon. The race is chip timed. All runners must carry water; a carry volume of about 20 ounces is recommended and failure to carry water can result in disqualification. The event is cupless; runners who wish may use a small portable cup. Crew access is available in Downtown Farmville, Tuggle and Prospect.
Finishers receive awards, top three finishers per gender receive prizes, and women receive a tank top while men receive a T shirt. A most Patriotic runner award will be given for each gender. Gluten free options will be available at aid stations when requested. Registration closes June 19 and registrations are nonrefundable though deferrals may be allowed for injury or COVID.
