The Freight Train event in Farmville, Virginia offers multiple distance options on a rail trail that runs through High Bridge Trail State Park. The event uses the Train Station at 510 W. 3rd Street as the start and finish location. Distances offered include:

Course, logistics and awards
The course is a relatively flat rail trail with a slight incline leaving the start. Total elevation gain for the 100K is under 1500 feet. All runners pass over High Bridge twice during their run. The half marathon is an out-and-back of 6.55 miles to a turnaround just past Camp Paradise; that turnaround is a manned, water-only station.
Aid and crew access details include manned aid stations and crew access at Elam and Camp Paradise. Drop bags are available: for 50k at Farmville (halfway) and Tuggle; for 100k at Orchard Road, Farmville (halfway) and Prospect. All pacers must sign a waiver; runners aged 60 and over may be allowed extended pacer periods at the race director's discretion. The 100K has a 19-hour time limit; 50k runners must finish before that cutoff. All finishers receive a handcrafted pottery award; top three male and female finishers in each distance and Grand Masters (60+) are also recognized.
