Night Time Ultra (Ultra Training Run) 27 Miles
Night Time Ultra is a night-time group training run organised by Trail Run Explorers at National Trust - Devil's Dyke, Brighton. The route covers 27 miles (43.5 km) and includes roughly 982 meters of ascent and 984 meters of descent. Participants move over winding trails, rolling countryside, and elevation-rich sections in dark conditions to simulate night racing demands.
The event is presented as a tactical test run to practice night running skills such as managing lighting and visibility, testing kit and pacing, and experiencing race-like fatigue. A trail guide accompanies the group and the route is described as offering panoramic views. A simulated aid station is possible during the run; if a pub is open midway there may be a brief stop for a soft drink and a packet of crisps, but this is not guaranteed.
Logistics notes state that a head torch is required; no torch means no run. The listed entry fee is £30 and payment plans are available. The organiser sets a minimum age of 16 and asks that participants have a good level of fitness and be able to run at least 20 miles in training. The run will include walking and hiking sections, a generally chatty group pace, and some tricky climbs. Insurance covers participants while they remain with the group; leaving the group removes that cover. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
