Newtyle Hill Race takes place on 22 April 2026 in Dunkeld with start and finish at the field up Brae Street. The event is part of a series of races in Birnam and Dunkeld and is included in the Highland Boundary Series Championship.

The course covers 7.8 km with approximately 300 m of climb. Course maps are provided by the organisers.

Entry is available by pre-entry on ProTay or on the night with a fee of £15. There are provisions for juniors and adults within the event timetable.

Race records are listed as 26:59 for the male record and 35:01 for the female record. At the finish there will be tea, coffee and cakes.

Safety requirements specify that competitors must carry or wear full body cover, a compass, a map and a whistle. These items are required for participation in the event.

As part of the Highland Boundary Series Championship this race will count toward the series total. The series takes the best three results from the four races Birnam, Deuchary, Newtyle and Craig o Barns, and a small prize is allocated to everyone who completes all four races. Test your navigation skills on this 22.9 km hill race featuring 1435 meters of ascent. Runners visit six checkpoints via Ben Chonzie and Loch Turret with post race refreshments and home baking included.

Trail runs at Scone Palace on 26 April 2026 offer 5km and 10km routes through the palace grounds, with the 10km including a lap of Perth Racecourse. The event is canicross friendly and uses live chip timing.

A rugged 55 mile circular trail across Perthshire with 2,250 metres of ascent and UTMB qualifying points. Self sufficient race starts and finishes at Gulabin Lodge, ending with a dramatic climb to An Lairig Pass and stunning views.
