The New Year's Day Run 5K McKinney takes place on January 1, 2026 in McKinney, TX. The event offers three options:

  • 5K Run
  • 1M Fun Run
  • Virtual Run

The 5K and 1M are held on a Wilson Creek trail. The 5K course includes two water stops. The minimum age for the 5K is 6 years; there is no minimum age for the 1M fun run. Pets are not allowed on the 5K course but are welcome in the 1M fun run. Strollers are allowed.

Logistics and features

The race starts and finishes at The Stix Icehouse, 301 Eldorado Pkwy #100, McKinney, TX 75069. Early packet pickup is scheduled for December 31 and race-day packet pickup is scheduled for January 1. Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal by mail in the week after the race. All in-person participants receive a breakfast pass that includes an All American breakfast; alcohol options are available for those over 21 with valid ID. Race management may change course details for safety or weather reasons.
