The New Year's Day Run 5K McKinney takes place on January 1, 2026 in McKinney, Texas. The event includes the following distances:

  • 5K
  • 1M Fun Run
  • Virtual Run

The 5K and 1M fun run use a Wilson Creek Trail route with the start and finish at The Stix Icehouse, 301 Eldorado Pkwy #100, McKinney, TX 75069. The 5K course will have two water stops. Registered in-person participants receive a breakfast pass that includes an All American breakfast and a beer or mimosa for those 21 and over (valid ID required). The race provides an event t-shirt and a finisher medal. Virtual participants receive a t-shirt and finisher medal by mail during the week after the race.

Logistics and Rules

Early packet pickup is available December 31 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Stix Icehouse. Race day packet pickup is available at the race site. Multiple parking lots are available around The Stix Icehouse.

The minimum age for the 5K is 6 years; there is no minimum age for the 1M fun run. Pets are not allowed on the 5K course; pets are welcome in the 1M fun run. Strollers are allowed. The use of personal music devices during the race is strongly discouraged. Awards for the 5K include overall, masters, grand masters, and age-group placings; the 1M fun run is not timed and has no awards.
