New South Trail Marathon
The New South Trail Marathon is a trail running event held on the Whitewater Center trail system in Charlotte, NC. The event offers two distance options:
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
- 26.2 miles Full Marathon
Registration fees vary by distance and registration period. Packet pick-up is scheduled for April 9 at the South Conference Center. Course information will be posted up to four weeks before the race.
Aid stations are placed on course and include hydration and food at selected locations. Specified aid station locations and mile markers are listed by the organizer.
Race policies require all participants to sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating. Registration is non-refundable. Trails remain open to other runners, hikers and bikers during the event; participants should communicate when passing other trail users. E-bikes and other powered transportation are not permitted in Whitewater Race Series events. Events proceed rain or shine, and the Whitewater Center may alter, reschedule or cancel events.
Parking at the Whitewater Center carries a daily fee; oversized parking has a higher fee. The center does not conduct trail rescues; participants must call 911 for emergency services.
Awards are given to top three male and female finishers in defined age groups. Race shirts, hoodies and medals have registration deadlines that determine guaranteed availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
