New South Trail Marathon - Whitewater

The New South Trail Marathon is scheduled for April 10, 2027 at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. The event offers full and half marathon distances on the Center’s trail system and is listed under trail running activities. Pre-registration is available and has specified deadlines; race day registration is also offered.

• 26.2 miles Full marathon
• 13.1 miles Half marathon

Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before the race at the South Conference Center. Registration fees differ by distance and by pre-registration versus race day registration. Short sleeve shirts and medals have registration deadlines for guaranteed availability. Optional race hoodies are available as an add-on.

The course will be marked with colored arrows and runs on natural-surface trails over uneven terrain. Aid stations are located at multiple points and provide hydration at several stations and both hydration and food at the start/finish and at one inland aid station. Trails remain open to other runners, hikers and bikers during the event; headphones and similar devices are strongly discouraged. Pets and powered transportation, including e-bikes, are not permitted on the course.

Race policies require participants to sign the Whitewater Center assumption of risk waiver. Registration is non-refundable. The Whitewater Center may alter, reschedule or cancel events and does not perform trail rescues; emergency location markers are present and participants should call 911 if needed.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 14 and under; 15-20; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61 and better. Participants must be present at the award ceremony to receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
