Event Overview

The Naughty Hog Trail Run takes place at the Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Johnson Branch Unit in Valley View, Texas. The event utilizes the Johnson Branch Trails and starts at the Johnson Branch Nature Center. The course traverses a variety of surfaces including dirt single track, rooty trails, ATV roads, and grass.

Distances

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 25 km Ruck (requires 20 or 30 lb weighted pack)

Course and Logistics

The 25 km, 50 km, and 100 km races follow a 15-mile/25 km looped course. Each loop features approximately 900 feet of elevation gain. The 10 km and 5 km events follow unique routes. Aid stations are located at various intervals along the routes, providing water, electrolytes, snacks, and hot/cold foods. Drop bag access is available at the start/finish area and designated aid stations.

A mandatory hydration carrying system of at least 16 ounces is required for all participants. Runners in the 100 km distance must use a headlamp, which may also be necessary for the first 30 minutes of the 50 km and 25 km races.
