Narrowneck Night Run : event overview
The Narrowneck Night Run is organised by Running Wild and takes place on 15 November 2025 at Narrowneck Lookout, Katoomba. The event is an out-and-back trail run along the Narrowneck Firetrail, with runners starting from the Narrowneck Lookout carpark and being walked down the stairs to the firetrail before the race begins. The course offers views over the Megalong Valley on the outward leg and runs back under the stars.
Course, distances and logistics
Distances:
- 14 km - turn at 6.88 km aid station and return to the lookout.
- 24.7 km - run to the firetrail end (12.2 km aid station) and return.
Aid stations and facilities are provided on course. The main aid station at 12.2 km supplies water, electrolyte, fruit, lollies, chips and coke. There will be no cups on course; runners must carry 500 ml minimum and are asked to use their own collapsible cup or flask. Portaloos will be available at the start/finish and at the fire tower turnaround. There are competitor limits and no on-the-day entries. Mandatory gear includes a breathable waterproof jacket (sealed seams, hood), emergency space blanket, beanie or buff, thermal long sleeve top (polypropylene or wool) and a headlamp.
