Narrowneck Night Run

Katoomba, Australia • 15 Nov 2025

Event overview

The Narrowneck Night Run is a trail event organised by Running Wild at Narrowneck Lookout, Katoomba, on 15 November 2025. The event offers two distance options with entry fees listed at $65 for each distance. There are no on-the-day entries and the event has a competitor limit.

Course, distances and logistics

The course is an out-and-back along the Narrowneck Firetrail, starting from Narrowneck Lookout carpark, with runners walked down the lookout stairs to the trailhead. Runners head southwest along the ridge and return to finish at the lookout carpark. Distances:

  • 14 km
  • 24.7 km

The 14 km field turns at the 6.88 km mark (short-course aid station). The 24.7 km field turns at the firetrail end (12.2 km aid station). Course marking uses pink tape where necessary; most of the route is straightforward along the ridge.

Safety, gear and support

Runners must carry at least 500 ml of water; failure to carry water results in no official result. Mandatory gear includes a breathable waterproof jacket, emergency space blanket, beanie or buff, thermal long-sleeved top, and a headlamp. Walking poles are allowed; headphones are discouraged. An aid station at 12.2 km provides water, electrolyte, fruit, lollies, chips and Coke. Portaloos are at the start/finish and a toilet is at the short-course turn. Race results appear on Tempus Timing and photos are published by the event photographer after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
