BMF Hounslow Training Run Perry's - Lockleys - Pinnacles Return

This is a guided training run on sections of the Hounslow course in Blue Mountains National Park, starting and finishing at Perry's Lookdown Car Park near Blackheath, NSW. The route descends 2.5 km of stairs into the Grose Valley, crosses the Grose River, climbs a rough trail to the Lockleys Pylon summit, follows a single track to the Pinnacles Car Park, then returns to Perry's. An optional turn around at Lockleys Pylon reduces the distance.

The organiser holds an NPWS ECO PASS licence and insurance to run training within the National Park. Trainers discuss race preparation topics such as race gear, nutrition, pacing, aid stations and course strategy. Three pace groups are offered: MIGHTY TURTLES, a medium paced group, and HARES, so participants can choose a group that matches their pace.

Practical details provided to participants include a full information sheet with meeting points and a course map PDF. Participants should carry mandatory Hounslow Classic gear, sufficient fuel and hydration for up to around five hours on foot, and note the minimum age of 16 for this session. Registration includes the stated fee and covers booking and processing costs; transport may be provided and experienced running guides accompany the run.
