Hounslow Classic

The Hounslow Classic is a weekend of trail races held in Blackheath and the Grose Valley Wilderness from 11 to 13 September 2026. The event village is at Allview Escape, 415-419 Hat Hill Rd, Blackheath NSW 2785. Entries open on Thursday 8 January 2026.

Runners follow tracks that include cliff top trails, canyon passages and rocky ascents around the Grose Valley. Course features mentioned for the races include Govetts Leap, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon track, Perrys Lookdown, Lockleys Pylon and the Pinnacles. Terrain is described as steep and technical, with sections along sheer sandstone cliffs and deep canyon trails.

Distances offered:

  • Hounslow 17k scenic cliff top route between Govetts Leap and Evans Lookout.
  • Hounslow Marathon 42k follows the 17k route then an out and back to the Pinnacles via Perrys Lookdown.

Trail runs nearby

Guided long training run around Katoomba using sections of the Ultra Trail Australia courses with paced groups, a 20 km bail out option and mandatory race gear required. Trainers hold an NPWS ECO PASS licence and the run is insured.

A 45 km Blue Mountains trail ultra around Jamison Valley with steep, technical sections and a traverse of Mt Solitary. Limited entry, mandatory gear, aid at 25 km and unmanned water at 37 km.

A guided UTA training and taper run in Katoomba using the UTA11 route and nearby trails, offering 11 to 24 km options, three pace groups and NPWS ECO PASS licensed guides. Mandatory UTA22 gear and minimum age 12.
